Europe is about to have a RELAPSE…Multi-platinum, Oscar and Grammy-winning rapsuperstar Eminem will descend upon European soil to headline three major festivals this summer - Scotland’s T In The Park, Switzerland’s Openair Frauenfeld and Ireland’s Oxegen - giving hundreds of thousands of fans a live dose of select tracks from his impressive catalogue.First, the hip-hop icon storms the UK, headlining the mainstage at Scotland’s T In The Park in early July. This marks Eminem's first European show in five years and his first-ever appearance at the festival. He then continues his European return with appearances at Gampel, Switzerland's Openair Frauenfeldand Dublin, Ireland's Oxegen 2010. Much like the blistering show he performed at New Orleans’ Voodoo Festin October 2009, Eminem will be performing with a live band, bringing a new and different level of intensity to his music. He will also be joined on by his group D12 all the dates.“I’m excited to get backto Europe to rock some shows,” said Eminem. “The crowds there are always big, crazy and dedicated…it’s going to be great to feel that energy again.”At the 16th annual Openair Frauenfeld, Eminem is set to share the stage with another hiphop legend, Jay-Z. His headlining set is expected to draw 40,000 fans. Marshall Mathers will also take the stage in Dublin, closing out Oxegen with a highly anticipated mainstage headline set. It's Eminem's first appearance in Ireland since his phenomenal sold out shows to over 200,000 fans in Marley Park in 2004. Eminem will follow an Oxegen tradition that's included unforgettable performances by previous headliners The Who, Muse and Kings of Leon.2009 has seen there-emergence of one of hip-hop’s finest MC’s. Eminem Introduces Slim Shady To The World: Wake-Up Video
Even if you're one of the best rappers alive and one of the most recognizable superstars in the music world, you have to start somewhere. On this day back in 1999, Eminem kicked off what became a dominant run through the music industry when he dropped his debut album The Slim Shady LP.
The single "My Name Is" had already been getting a ton of play on MTV and on radio (including modern rock radio, which treated "My Name Is" as a novelty record as though it were a "Weird Al" tune), so there was plenty of buzz surrounding the album by the time it dropped. Most people could see that Eminem had star power, a cheeky sense of humor and charisma to spare, but what The Slim Shady LP best revealed were Em's skills as an MC. He was able to harness Dr. Dre's production better than anybody since Snoop Dogg, and he used it to spin intricate narratives ("'97 Bonnie and Clyde"), revenge fantasies ("Brain Damage"), goofs ("My Fault") and old-fashioned battle raps ("Just Don't Give a F---").
A year later, Eminem managed to top himself with his career-defining album The Marshall Mathers LP, which better tapped into his intricate flow and bonded together his humor and his rage perfectly (for proof, you only need to hear "Stan" again). But a handful of his career highlights still live on his debut, including "Role Model." It uses a great G-funk beat that wouldn't have been out of place on Dre's 2001, and though some of the cultural references are a little bit dated (there is a nod to LL Cool J's feud with Canibus and a joke about Lauryn Hill), but the chorus still rules.

Eminem and Muse join Kasabian at T in the Park
Eminem and Muse will join Kasabian as headliners at this year's T In The Park festival.
The Detroit rapper, who last played live in the UK in 2003, will top the bill at the event held between 9-11 July at Balado in Kinross-shire.
Brit rockers Kasabian were already confirmed but other new names booked to play the 2010 event include Jay-Z, Dizzee Rascal and Paolo Nutini.
Joining them will be Empire Of The Sun, Stereophonics and The Prodigy.
Last year's festival was headlined by Kings Of Leon, Blur, Snow Patrol and The Killers. Other additions
Elsewhere, those artists playing across the festival's Radio 1/NME stage and Slam Tent include 30 Seconds To Mars, Biffy Clyro, Florence and the Machine, Calvin Harris, Faithless, La Roux, The Coral, The Courteeners, Gossip, The Temper Trap and Wolfmother. Eminem, who released his sixth studio album Relapse in 2009, will headline a British festival for the first time since Reading in 2001.
The rapper's Anger Management Tour brought him to the UK to play live in 2003 at Milton Keynes Bowl.
A scheduled European tour was cancelled in 2005 due to exhaustion.
Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme said: "T In The Park we've done three or four times before but we've never headlined it before.
"I think Eminem is amazing. I haven't listened to the last album much but the album before that was incredible. I've never seen him live before.
"The only problem we have is that it's world cup final weekend. If it falls on the world cup final and England happen to be there I might have to go and watch England play instead."
Tickets for this year's T In The Park go on sale at 9am on Friday 26 February.

Eminem Nominated For Doobie Award
High-Times magazine recently announced the nominee's for their annual "Doobie" Awards. The awards show, music like the New York based magazine, gives nods to artistic achievements dealing with the cannibus-culture. This year's nominees for the "Best Hip Hop Artist" (and album) include B Real "Smoke 'N' Mirrors," Method Man & Redman "Blackout! 2," Kottonmouth Kings "Hidden Stash 420," Asher Roth "Asleep in the Bread Aisle," and Kid Cudi for his debut "Man on the Moon: The End of Day" album.
For High-Time's "Pot Song Of The Year," four hip-hop tracks were nominated including Kid Cudi's "Day 'N' Night," Eminem's "Must Be the Ganja," Meth & Red's "Dis Iz 4 All My Smokers," and Asher Roth's "Blunt Cruisin." This year's award show will take place on March 21st from noon until 6pm at Emo's outdoor stage in Austin, Texas.
