KOOL G RAP NAMES HIS DREAM TEAM, "I CAN'T IGNORE THE FACT THAT BOY EMINEM IS INCREDIBLE"

In addition to today marking rap legend Kool G Rap's 43rd birthday, the music pioneer recently talked to SOHH about the lyricists he'd like to enlist in a hip-hop supergroup if granted the opportunity

Sticking to proven rap greats, G. Rap said his collective would consist of himself, Nas, Jay-Z and Eminem

"Let's see, right now, G. Rap, Nas, Eminem," Kool G told SOHHwhen asked who would be in his dream rap group. "I can't ignore the fact that that boy Eminem is incredible. He's lyrically incredible. Anybody that's ever sat and fronted on this dude's talent is like, come on, man. Stop playing me. I'm a [hip-hop] nemesis and even I can't ignore the dude's talent level. I would say my man Jay-Z. We're talking lyricists right here. I'm talking real heavy weights. Not taking anything away from the cats out there because there are cats out there that are current that I like. I like T.I. and Rick Ross. But we're talking super rap groups, so I gotta go with the heavy weight lyricists that are undeniable on anybody's radar. I don't care what era we're in. You can't take Nas being a lyricist beat away from him." (SOHH)

Adele Moves Past Eminem For Most Digital Download Sales

For the moment, English songbird Adele can claim a victory over Eminem although the pair is not at odds with one another. The soulful singer has surpassed the Detroit bad boy with the most digital sales of her sophomore effort 21 – passing Slim Shady’s Recovery album and giving her the top nod. Adele also has the top spot with physical copies of her latest selling over 2.6 million.

Eminem has nothing to be sad about as Recovery sits as the #1 album sold in 2010 with over 4 million copies sold in the states and over 6 million worldwide. Adele’s victory in online sales comes just after Eminem himself broke the record earlier this month.

Debuting in 2008 with her album 19, Adele became a popular fan favorite with her stirring vocals resonating with the U.S. audience and eventually landing her two 2009 Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Her follow up album21 – following the trend of naming her albums after her age at the time of recording – continues to wow fans who connected with songs inspired in part to a true life breakup for the singer.

For now, Adele is resting up for a North American tour that will begin in August after the singer cancelled earlier tour dates due to complications with laryngitis. Adele will begin her jaunt with our neighbors to the North in Vancouver before hitting make-up dates for portions of the tour that were cancelled while also adding new dates.
