Will Eminem Perform At The 2011 Grammy's?

Have you seen Eminem's new commercial advertising the Grammy Awards, airing on February 13 on CBS? We just premiered the spot, shown above, on MTV News on Wednesday (January 5). The clip gives a svelte look at the MC's journey through music and imagery. However our question is: Does this commercial mean that Eminem will take the stage at the Grammy's?

"The artists are still being chosen," said Evan Greene, chief marketing officer for the Recording Academy.

In early December 2010, Em picked up a staggering 10 Grammy nods, including Song and Record of the Year (for "Love the Way You Lie") and Album of the Year (for Recovery, which is also up for Rap Album of the Year). He also scored noms for Best Rap Solo Performance (for "Not Afraid"), Pop Collaboration With Vocals (for his turn on B.o.B's "Airplanes Part II") and Best Rap Song (for "Lie").

That said, it's not far-fetched to assume that the reclusive MC will perform at least one of the songs from his successful LP Recovery. We thoroughly enjoyed his rendition of "Love The Way You Lie" with a red-haired Rihanna during last year's VMA's.

"Luckily, I got the day off and Eminem called me the day before and said, 'Please, I'm having a really hard time doing this without you. We had a really great song,' " Rihanna recalled. "And I just was like, 'Oh damn!' It killed me, and then they allowed us to leave and do it, and we jetted in and we're gonna jet right back out."

So maybe Em's commercial is akin to scheduling an artist to perform during the Grammy's right before their award category is announced so production assistants aren't scrambling to find a lost rapper to deliver his or her acceptance speech.

"I can neither confirm nor deny," said Greene, but what do you think?
